Rockstar Spring Open
Join us for Rockstar's first ever open sport climbing competition.
A fun packed day with lots of different challenges. From hands-free slabs to autobelay squirms, lead routes to speed routes, there is something for everyone. Our setting team will be creating some incredible climbs using an impressive selection of holds that will test your technique, endurance, and of course, your nerve!
Format
Each competitor will have 6 routes to try in a 'flash' format, that's only one attempt folks! The higher up the climb you go, the more points you get. Just pulling onto the start gets you in the running. There is no time pressure or order, you will have all day to attempt your routes in a scramble format. Don't leave it too late though, scores will need to be in by 16:30.
*You will need to provide your own belayer who has completed our competency process. *
It's not all serious though! Throughout the day we will have speed challenges running, a no-hands slab climb, Slacklining and a boulder pad stacking challenge. If you don't fancy lead climbing you can enter our Open Top Rope category, just as fun, less scary! Each entry to the open is automatically entered into a prize draw too.
To complete the day you can sit back with a drink and watch the head to head showdown as our 24 finalists battle it out to be crowned the RSO 2024 champion.

Juniors wishing to enter the 'Junior Lead' categories must be competent at lead climbing. You will be able to select either the top rope or lead category on the day. The age limits for the categories are strict, so please select the category for the age you will be on the 18th May 2024.
Finals
The finalists will be selected from the top 12 male and female scores from the Youth, Adult and Master categories combined.
There will be 4 finals routes, 2 male and 2 female. Each of the top 12 will attempt route 1, however only the top 6 after route 1 progress to route 2.
