THREE GREAT CENTRES.
ONE AWESOME COMMUNITY.
FLASHPOINT SWINDON & FREEDOG SWINDON JOIN THE ROCKSTAR CLIMBING FAMILY
We’ve put together some helpful answers to questions you might have about the recent announcement
Today marks a major milestone in Rockstar’s journey, we’re incredibly excited to let you know that Freedog Swindon and Flashpoint Swindon have now joined the Rockstar Climbing Family.
This may come as a surprise, but it’s something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for a while, and we’re thrilled to finally be able to tell you. This is a big moment for all of us and one that opens the door to some exciting opportunities ahead.
By bringing Rockstar, Flashpoint and Freedog together, we’re uniting two brilliant climbing communities and those with a touch of adventure within. We’re no longer competitors, we’re becoming one stronger, more connected team with a shared vision for what climbing and fun in Swindon can be.
This is an exciting step, and we’re committed to keeping our community informed as we go through this transition together.
General FAQ
-
Our centres share a passion for climbing and adventure, great customer experiences, and community. By coming together, we’re building something stronger – with more space, more expertise, and more opportunities for climbers of all levels and mini adventurers across Swindon.
This change only effects the Swindon based Flashpoint and Freedog facilities. All other sites will remain part of the flashpoint group.
-
All staff are being welcomed into the Rockstar team. We’re bringing the teams together to share skills, ideas, and experience – with a focus on community and collaboration.
If you are looking for current available roles, you can find them here.
-
All three centres will remain open and active – there are no closures planned. Over the coming weeks, you’ll start to see some visual changes as the Flashpoint and Freedog Swindon brand gradually transitions to become part of the Rockstar Climbing family.
We’re taking time to understand what works well and how best to support all the unique elements of each site.
This is part of bringing our teams and community together under one shared identity. Behind the scenes, we’ll also be exploring how our centres can best support one another and grow as a connected group.
-
We’ve planned a transition period of around three months, during which there will be minimal visible change. This allows both teams time to align, collaborate, and plan the best possible experience going forward.
-
We’ll be making some small tweaks to opening hours soon to improve operations and support both our teams better. These changes shouldn’t impact your regular climbing or adventure routine – and we’ll communicate any updates in advance.
-

Flashpoint FAQ
-
Not for now – it’s business as usual across all sites. You may notice a few small adjustments over time to help align our offerings, but any significant changes would be communicated clearly in advance and always with member value and fairness in mind.
-
Not just yet – but we’re actively looking into how we might offer more flexibility between sites in the future and this is high on our priority list. We know this is something many of you will be excited about, and we’ll share updates when we’re ready.
